Alzheimer’s Treatment: Research Discovers Flickering Lights

More than  5 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. Although there is no known cure, new research out of Georgia Institute of Technology shows how flickering lights can be a potential therapy to help manage, and improve, symptoms. In the current study, they exposed mice, as well as Alzheimer’s patients, to 40Hz light and sound therapy, in order to monitor the brain’s chemistry that connected the light flickering with microglial and other immune activation.
